Hiring - Café Manager

SHARE THE VISION:

The café manager is responsible for helping Tea Zaanti become a must visit neighborhood establishment and a leader in creating Salt Lake City’s communi-TEA vibe. This includes: helping create a more dynamic menu, monthly specials, and better customer loyalty. 

To be successful in this role, you are expected to lead by example and have working knowledge of cafe/coffee shop management, operations and staff supervision. Tea Zaanti is growing and learning and we expect the manager to be intuitive and work with the owners and staff to assure the shop is moving in the right direction.

Primary Responsibilities: 

Staff Management:

  • Provide guidance, feedback and motivation to staff

  • Create schedules and work with owner to manage staff performance

  • Oversee staff training and consistency

  • Work with owner to hire and train new staff

Customer Service:

  • Ensure we maintain and grow our customer and staff hospitality 

  • Build and maintain a customer loyalty program

Opertional Management:

  • Ensuring smooth day-to-day weekend operations while leading the shop during our busiest shifts, delivering a top notch customer experience

  • Maintain a clean and organized environment

  • Ensure beverage and food quality and consistency 

  • Work the team to create new menu ideas and how to implement them

  • Always be asking; What will make Tea Zaanti better? 

Inventory Management:

  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain stock

  • Learn to monitor and control costs


Shared Responsibilities: 

  • Cultivating a culture where staff feel appreciated and proud to work at Tea Zaanti

  • Machine maintenance; espresso machine, tea boilers, fridges, etc

  • Shop appearance; retail stocking & merchandising, indoor & outdoor customer areas, kitchen operations, tea & supplies storage & packing areas.

And everything else that goes into operating Salt Lake’s ONLY Tea and Wine Café

Requirements:

  • Three to five years restaurant experience with one year leadership experience

  • Available to work the needed weekend shifts 

  • Team management skills

  • Exceptional customer service

  • Outstanding personality and the ability to create small talk
