Staff Favorites

One of the things that makes working at Tea Zaanti so special and SO fun is the amazing staff (obviously!). That being said, I think it’s important to share a bit of perspective from other tea-tenders. So, I’ve asked a few other staff members to share their favorite things about the shop– from their favorite eats and sips to their favorite things about the shop. This Q & A style piece shares a glimpse into the heart of Tea Zaanti, through the eyes of Charlie, Sascha, and Annie!

Before we get into it.. here’s a bit about each staff member featured in this post:

Sasch has worked at the shop for a couple of years now. Sascha is a literal BALL of sunshine— she always has a smile on her face. She really does embody communi-tea!

Charlie has been with us for almost a year. Charlie is devoted to being a reliable staff member (and the greatest friend)! She always shows up when we need her. She is constantly supportive!

Annie has worked at Tea Zaanti for two years (or so) now. She is so SILLY and the most personable. If any of us are ever having a bad day, Annie will be there to lift us up :)

Whether you are a regular customer and on a first-name-basis with these staff members or you’re new here and just discovering us, I hope you enjoy getting to know the shop a bit more through my friends & coworkers! Here are a few of their favorites….

What’s your favorite drink on the menu?

Charlie: “a toasted tea latte”

Sasch: “an iced OG matcha with oat milk & honey!”

Annie: “a mocha, it’s just so yummy sweet delicious”

What’s your favorite drink off-menu (perhaps, a secret, special drink)?

Charlie: “an iced vanilla matcha with a bit of lavender syrup”

Sasch: “Either an iced vanilla matcha chai (1/3 water, 1/3 Bhakti chai, 1/3 milk, scoop of vanilla matcha & w lil OG to cut the sweetness) or a sparkling chai lemonade (1/2 Bhakti chai, 1/4 lemonade, 1/4 san pelli)”

Annie: “a pumpkin-spice matcha iced. I use the pumpkin spice pu’erh tea as the base (instead of water) then add vanilla matcha, milk and blend”

What’s your favorite food item on the menu?

Charlie: “the chicken prosciutto”

Sasch: “the goat cheese & radish with a fried egg!”

Annie: “the melted brie and fig dipped in our tomato soup”

What's your go-to personalized eat off-menu?

Charlie: “a BLT (bacon, lettuce, tomato)”

Sasch: “I love making a cucumber salad with all the lox ingredients (lots of sliced cukes, couple spoonfuls of cream cheese, diced red onion, diced smoked salmon, capers, chopped dill, salt, lemon juice, shake it up)”

Annie: “kind of twist on the hummus toast. I use sourdough bread, hummus, hot sauce, balsamic, cucumbers, salami, manchego cheese, and then throw a fried egg on top”

Do you have a favorite wine or tea that we sell at the shop?

Charlie: “My current favorite wine at the moment is the Rouge. I like enjoying it at night with some charcuterie!”

Sasch: “Our jade oolong is my favorite tea, it’s the best in the summer iced to take home after a shift! My favorite wine is the skins that we have - I always get it when my family is in town but it is also perfect for any occasion”

Annie: “I love the jasmine pearls, it is so refreshing and is perfect for relaxing outside or running errands”

Finally— What's your favorite thing about working at TZ?

Charlie: “My favorite thing about TeaZaanti are my coworkers. It’s just like coming in to hang with your buddies all day.”

Sasch: “I love how work is just hanging out with your best friends and how we all have a family dynamic amongst ourselves. Tis’ special.”

Annie: “What I love about tea zaanti is all of my amazing coworkers. I met two of my best friends there and am so grateful for that. Also, one of my favorite shop memories is when it started snowing a bunch during a shift and Mia and I went outside and made a little snowman!”

Stay tuned for another ‘Staff Favorites’ post.. I’m thinking of turning this into a mini-series!
